In 1965, the former president of South Korea, Park Jung-hee, and the third Republic of Korea has already received reparations of Japanese occupation of Korea under 'Japan-Korea Basic Treaty'.

In the convention, it is stipulated that the historical problems and compensation in the past have been completed and that this problem was ultimately resolved.

Additionally, the Japanese government does not need to respond to the additional compensation for each Korean citizen according to Article 2.3 of this Convention.

The Korean government was able to implement the construction of the Pohang ironworks and the 'five-year development plan' because of these reparations, and that these reparations was not distributed on Korean citizens who claimed that, is purely the problem with the government of the third Republic of Korea, former president of Korea Park Jung-hee, and Pohang Ironworks which now called as Posco and should be discussed with them and those who related to them.

During the incumbency of the former president of Korea, Park Geun-hye, Korea called for additional reparations related to comfort women under Japanese occupation to Japan. Even though Japan had no reason for compensation due to above treaty, the additional reparations of 1 Billion yen have been offered for improving relationship between Korea and Japan, and once again, clarified in the convention that this problem was irreversibly terminated.

Under these circumstances, the current Korean government, again, claims further issues of comfort women and calls for re-negotiation. This action will not be understood nor tolerated by not just Japan, but also any international society.
